The COX 8 Table
Introducing the state of the art Cox 8 spinal decompression table. Cox technique is a highly skilled form of chiropractic treatment that utilizes this specialized table to relieve pain associated with spinal conditions. It involves gentle controlled movements and low force decompression of the spine to reduce pressure on the discs, joints, and nerves.

How can it help you?
Cox technique is a gentle, low-force technique that flexes and decompresses your spine to relieve pain. This technique is specifically designed to isolate the joint allowing for specific decompression pressures to be applied to each segment. Research has shown that this technique is proven to:

What to Expect
Here’s how it works: The patient lies face down on a specifically engineered table that can flex, extend, laterally bend, and rotate. The chiropractor applies precise, rhythmic pressure by hand to specific areas of the spine while the table moves, creating and allowing full range of motion within the joints. This flexing and bending of the spine gently separates the vertebrae, increasing the space between them and allows for hydration of the discs. The distraction part pulls the spinal joints apart slightly, which can drop intradiscal pressure up to -192 mmHg, helping bulging or herniated discs retract and reducing nerve irritation. The technique is also known to boost circulation to the spinal tissues and flushes out inflammation.
Working Together Toward Long-Term Healing
Cox Technique is more than just quick relief—it’s about helping you manage pain and improve your quality of life. Using gentle, targeted movements, this technique decompresses the spine and restores motion helping you move more freely and feel like yourself again. To reassure improvement is being made we use the rule of 50% to help guide outcome.
According to Dr. James Cox’s Rule of 50%, most patients who respond to care will feel at least 50% better within the first 4 weeks (about 12 visits). Once we reach 50% improvement, the frequency of treatment is decreased by 50%. If this is not the case, we reassess and depending on the outcome we will adjust your care plan or make an appropriate referral.
The Cox Technique is especially effective for patients with:

Backed by Decades of Research
The Cox Technique has been developed and refined over decades. It began with clinical observations by Dr. James Cox and others, and by the 1990s, it gained support through federally funded studies. Today, it is one of the most thoroughly researched chiropractic techniques available.
Ongoing research continues to support its effectiveness, including:
-
Biomechanics studies showing how and where force is applied
-
Clinical studies showing successful patient outcomes
-
Published case reports in peer-reviewed journals
-
References in major chiropractic textbooks and online resources
This wealth of research gives both doctors and patients confidence in the safety and success of the technique.
